6- Places to Work From in Nicaragua

One of the perks of working and traveling is that you get to work from nice places all over the world. I have made a selection of my favorite places in Nicaragua, with the best food, reliable internet, places to plug your laptop, good coffee, and incredible views.

  1. Cafe Campestre – Isla Ometepe
    • Opening hours: 08:00 AM – 10:00 PM Type of food: From curries to sandwiches and burgers Budget: $$

This was by far my favorite place for the food; it’s simply delicious (mainly recommend the curries at night). There are many different places where you can sit, from outside in the garden to inside. The tables are big, there are plugs inside, and the internet is good.

  2. El Bodegon – León
    • Opening hours: 12:00 PM- 11:00 PM Type of food: Fusion Nicaraguan, Mexican & Cuban Budget: $$

El Bodegon is situated in an old colonial church, with an open central area and some closed-off places. The WiFi is stable; however, I would not recommend having calls at this location. The food is delicious; I mainly recommend the Birria (almost as good as in Mexico).

  3. Selvista Guesthouse – Isla Ometepe
    • Opening hours: 07:00 AM – 09:00 PM Type of food: Farm to Table Budget: $$$

Working with this view is pure luxury! It is possible to stay here but also just to come for one day. It’s about 10 minutes by bike from Balgue and more or less 30 minutes walking. The WiFi is great, the food is good, but the most amazing is the view. And if you are lucky, you might spot the family of Howler Monkeys living there.

  4. Coffee Lovers – Estelí
    • Opening hours: 07:00 AM – 09:00 PM Type of food: Coffee, pastries, sandwichs Budget: $

Estelí is the least touristy place we have visited. This café serves very good coffee, has good internet, many different places with plugs, and good food.

  5. Selina Granada
    • Opening hours: 24/7 (coworking space) Type of food: International cuisine Budget: $$$

I have a love-hate relationship with Selina. Honestly, they are great hostels: there is always warm water, the WiFi is impeccable, some of the locations are absolutely stunning, and there are co-working spaces with air conditioning. However, food and beverages are overpriced and the quality is terrible. This said, the Selina in Granada has a great co-working place.

  6. Pan de Vida – Granada
    • Opening hours: 07:00 AM – 07:00 PM Type of food: Pizza, sandwiches, and coffee Budget: $$

I would have liked to go more often to this place, but I only went once. The WiFi is great, and the food is good. There is only one table with a plug, so it might not be the best place if you need to ensure to have power.
